What is a Medical Assistant?

A medical assistant is a versatile healthcare professional who supports physicians and other healthcare providers in clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of medical offices, clinics, or hospitals.

The Clinical Medical Assistant program is a comprehensive course designed to teach students the skills needed to provide care for patients in a clinic setting. The program focuses on both administrative and clinical competencies such anatomy and physiology of all body systems, administrative functions such as appointment scheduling, insurance billing, and office management, as well as clinical functions including administering medications, venipuncture skills, obtaining and recording medical histories and vital signs, and preparation of the patient and treatment rooms for physician examinations.

Go to https://atlworks.org/get-started/ to begin the WIOA application process.

 

Step 2: Understand the Application Process

Step 3: Determine Your Eligibility

Review the Eligibility Checklist

Complete the WIOA Eligibility Application

Gather all required documents to speed up the process

Register with the WorkSource Georgia Portal

👉 Note: If you live in Cherokee, Clayton, Douglas, Fayette, Gwinnett, Henry, or Rockdale County, you’ll have additional steps. Please follow the county-specific instructions provided.

 

Step 4: Upload Your Documents

Upload all of your completed documents directly to the WorkSource Georgia Portal.

⚠️ Incomplete documentation may delay your approval.

 

Step 5: Wait for Approval & Next Steps

Once your application is reviewed, a WIOA representative will contact you.

✅ Be sure to let them know you wish to attend Herway Training Institute.

 

Step 6: Submit Your Voucher to Herway

Once approved, you’ll receive a WIOA voucher. Please send this to us right away so we can begin your enrollment process.
